The French Prime Minister announced a new plan this evening to stop the riots that are spreading across France. They started in the suburbs of Paris 11 days ago, and have spread to nearly 300 other cities and towns. Dominique de Villepin said that he is imposing curfews and sending 1,500 more police to stop the violence. He also announced more money for local organizations, and scholarships aimed at training suburban kids.
Reda Sadki is an immigrant rights activist who supports the rioters, and watched de Villepin’s television address. We reached him in Paris.
